Locating Journal Articles

The library offers a wide range of indexes and databases for locating journal articles, conference proceedings, published research, book chapters, and other types of information.

This tutorial does not address the use of all the listed indexes and databases.

To contact a Reference Librarian for assistance use the subject area specialist list to obtain phone or email contact information or visit the reference desk on the first floor of the library.

Finding Information
Before engaging in the research process, you may want to review the tutorial on the OSU Library's Information Literacy web site. It will lead you through defining your topic, identifying and locating books and journal articles, evaluating their appropriateness, and citing them. It also discusses doing library research in a very broad context, including such topics as the steps to searching an electronic database.
Subject Area Specialists
The library has compiled a list of the reference librarians for each subject area. If you need help with library resources or locating information, please contact a librarian for assistance.
