Data acquisition and manipulation are a major part of what we do as a comprehensive research university.  The right technology tools for the job are elemental to the success of any researcher.  At OSU one major tool of choice is SPSS.  For Tech Tuesday January 11, 2005, Dr. Christine Johnson gave a brief overview of this tool freely available to all OSU faculty, staff, and students.

Dr. Johnson is the Director of the Bureau for Social Research and Adjunct Associate Professor in Department of Human Development and Family Science at Oklahoma State University.  Her Phd. work in Sociology, from Iowa State University, included a concentration area in research methodology.  In her trek from Iowa State to OSU, Dr. Johnson has served as Post-doctoral Research Associate, Research Assistant, and as Graduate Faculty Associate Member.  She has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles, book chapters, and presentations involving the use of research in the social sciences.
