Everything You Wanted to Know about the Library, But Didn't Have Time To Ask

The creation of Digital Library Services at OSU has provided a tremendously interesting and exciting opportunity to grow new services, evaluate resources, and decide how we can best deliver these resources. The timing of the creation coincided with OSU beginning to offer courses to more distance education students in an online format while, at the same time, the delivery of information resources and library material via the web was really taking off. However, Digital Library Services exists not only to serve those at a distance, but all members of the OSU community, not only helping with research and reference needs, but also to provide the tech support they need to access all library resources.

If one of the greatest features of Tech Tuesday is faculty discovery of previously unknown resources (and it is), then this presentation by Dr. Anne Prestamo holds the potential to be one of the greatest Tech Tuesdays ever. The OSU Library is indisputably the greatest single source supplier of resources to our faculty. As the creator of Digital Library Services, Dr. Anne Prestamo is the chief architect and facilitator for the delivery of many of these resources, including some you may not even know exist:

What a gift it was to have Dr. Prestamo available for this Tech Tuesday when she will briefly revealed the resources available to faculty and provided plenty of time for questions and answers.

Before becoming Associate Dean of Libraries for Collection and Technology Services, Dr. Prestamo served as Head of Digital Library Services and a reference librarian in the Library’s Science & Engineering Division at OSU. She holds a BM degree from Kent State University, an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a doctorate in Educational Technology from Oklahoma State University. Prior to joining the OSU faculty, Prestamo held positions in the libraries at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. She also served as an adjunct lecturer in the School of Library & Information Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In addition, Dr. Prestamo has written, served as editor for, and / or presented numerous articles and presentations, chaired and co-chaired numerous committees, and is a member of a variety of national and international societies, all with a focus on her area of interest, technology for the delivery of library resources.
