It's Always Good To Know Larry the TechNO-Guy
|
Polycom Via Video II, which is OSU's standardized solution for video conferencing, incorporates sharing files, whiteboard, copying and pasting documents (including special symbols and formatting), online chat as well as video and audio all through a feature called "show desktop." This opens up a whole new world for how you communicate with peers, students, or maybe even teach an entire class, all from your office. Larry Cochran Click here to see the interview. |
As the Director for the Center for Instructional Technology at OSU-Tulsa, Larry Cochran oversees the technology infrastructure that includes providing complete state of the art multimedia support to faculty at 63 different and varying locations. Part of the challenge of Larry's position is to keep a constant "feel" for which of the current technologies are most relevant. He's always looking for ways to make positive and substantive changes in the way that OSU capitalizes on our excellent technology resources in order to maximize our assets and deliver the best educational value possible. One of the technologies that has got his attention lately is that which is provided by the Polycom Via Video II video conferencing solution. For this Tech Tuesday Larry will walk us through the features of this technology available to OSU faculty.
This special Tech Tuesday emanated from the OSU-Tulsa campus. It was carried via video teleconference in our other usual Tech Tuesday locations.
